My 2¢: Capuano, the Stagnant-State Candidate?
Announcing that he was “pulling papers” for entering the senate race, Rep. Michael Capuano said:
No other candidate… more closely mirrors Ted Kennedy’s positions on important issues of war and peace.
Running on the no-change platform, eh? For Capuano to wrap himself in tradition is understandable, since he holds a Congressional seat previously occupied by fabled & fallible men: Joe Kennedy, Tip O’Neil, and JFK.
Yet Capuano’s ”just like Teddy” positioning is risky, given that many Bay State women disagreed with Kennedy at times over the past year. If “mirroring” someone is a vote-worthy attribute, women might just vote for a candidate who more closely mirrors them.
