Will Pelosi Help or Hurt Capuano?
The WomenForCoakley e-mail lines are burning up with questions about Pelosi’s endorsement of Capuano, and primary among them is: Will it help him or hurt him? A New York Times blog recently reported that Pelosi’s popularity is dismally low; only 34% of Californians approve of the job Pelosi’s doing, whereas 44% disapprove. So will her approval of him be a lift or a drag?
Another question is about the bizarre timing. Granted, Pelosi wouldn’t have been available before now, busy as she’s been with — as Bonnie Erbe of US News & World Report calls it – ”tossing women’s rights over the side like so much detritus.” But the headlines about Pelosi over the last couple of days have been so negative that you’d think Capuano would want to let the dust settle a little before having his picture taken beside her. On the other hand, Capuano did schedule the presser for Friday afternoon when Washington insiders dump bad news…

Love your style- I’m still laughing about the Friday dump even though I’m so angry with Pelosi I can hardly see straight. Does she think selling out women first with the Stupak ball and chain and then she attempts to knee cap the first viable woman Senate candidate from MA-way to go Nancy-maybe you can get those poll numbers down to historically low levels!
