Wearing Out the Pumps

With just over two weeks until the December 8 primary, Coakley and her volunteers are wearing out the shoe leather.  Today, the candidate visited voters and collected local endorsements in Northampton and Greenfield, and tomorrow she’ll do the same in her hometown of North Adams, as well as Pittsfield and  Springfield.  Meanwhile the weekend, about 200 volunteers in 12 cities and towns state-wide knocked on 4,500 doors.  If you’d like to volunteer to help canvass or make phone calls, click here.

Globe: Coakley Favorables “Dwarf” Rivals’

A new Boston Globe/UNH pollshows that Martha Coakley is the candidate the likely voters see as the

  • most qualified
  • best able to understand the problems of people like them
  • most desirable to have a beer with and
  • most likely to win.

Her favorables ratings, at 71%, “dwarf” those of her competition.

As the “undecideds” shrink, Coakley is holding strong at 43%.   Capuano, at 22%, now is out-polling Pagliuca, who has dropped to 15%.  Khazei trails at 6%.

Coakley: Senate Health Bill Strong

AG Coakley told NECN’s This Week in Business that she would vote to pass the health care bill currently before the Senate, calling it 

a very strong bill.  I think it has all of the qualities we want in it — a strong public option, it covers pre-existing conditions — and frankly, it doesn’t have some of the things that you don’t want in this bill.
