Buzz: The Batter’s Up and the Men are Moving Out
Addressing her kick-off meeting for a couple-hundred of volunteers Thursday night, Coakley used a sports metaphor to explain the dynamics of the race.
I like softball, though I’m not very good at it… When I get up to bat, the men move in.
Coakley said that she has “two consistent dreams” about her opportunity at the political plate. the first is that she connects with the ball and it “sails over their heads for a home run.” The second is that when she steps to the plate
everybody moves out. That’s what’s happening in this race.
According to the Sox-obsessed men in my family (who by the way, wouldn’t surprise me if they wanted to elect Curt Schilling God, if that were an elected position), Coakley means that the other guys are moving as if they’re wary of her potential to slug this thing.

Martha will be named MVP this season and with our help she’ll win the pennant on December 8th and the World Series on January 19th-
I’m honored to be on her team! Go Martha!
